We lost the vest :(
On our way to the airport at 5:45am we accidently left the vest bag outside the car right next to our house. When we got to the airport I asked where the vest was and Jason basically with his facial expressions said UT OH!!! so right away we called my dad to see if he could run over to our house pick it up and try to get it to us at LAX before our plane left. THE LAST THING ON MY MIND WAS THAT IT WAS GOING TO BE GONE. My dad rushed over there to try and bring it to us and when he got to our house it was gone
someone had taken it. Sometimes I put stuff out in front of our house to give away. We live in a neighborhood with a TON of walking traffic so we always put things out in front of our house and honestly stuff is usually gone within an hour well and so was The Vest. The only difference is the stuff we usually put out has a FREE sign on it. Anyways long story short in the airport jason and i were both on the phones trying to find out how we get a new one. his nebulizer was also in it because we ALWAYS carry on the vest because of the importance of it for levi and because of how expensive it is $16,000 CRAZY HUH. so anyways we talked to the vest company (who are amazing and so helpful) and they told us we needed a police report because it was stolen even though we did leave it but because it was on our property it was still considered stolen. so my wonderful family and friends began what was called “operation missing vest” and they went work and i mean WORK. 5 hrs later when we got off the plane a police report had been filed, a new vest was being overnighted to the hotel in hawaii, and our friend brendie had an article in the signal and on our local radio station’s website, there were radio broadcasts about a 3 year old who is missing his important medical equipment and flyers posted everywhere in our neighborhood in english and spanish as well as money put up for a reward. it was amazing. jason and i know what great family and friends we have and this just reenforced it one more time. we knew all that was being done and then some was being done to find levi’s vest. the next day we had a new nebulizer and vest in hawaii and levi was back doing his treatments. it was pretty cute as we were chasing down the fed ex truck we told levi we were trying to get his new vest and he said to us “I MISS MY VEST” ok how cute is that and also showed us that i think he really does feel better when he uses it (or he just likes it because it is the only time he watches tv) either way he missed it, it almost made me cry. so he ended up only missing 4 treatments. it was a blessing though because tytus was a little sick and we had an inhaler that he was given so we were able to at least give levi an albuterol treatment and we resorted to pounding levi in place of the vest. so with all of this to say the vest never did turn up but we are still so thankful to everyone who played a part in trying to find levi’s vest and we are so blessed and thankful that we received a new one free of charge PRAISE GOD. Can’t tell you all how much your love and support means to us.
